A Short Tour of Our Projects

I-Ching Oracle Web App

The Challenge

Create a modern, accessible digital version of the ancient I-Ching divination system that respects tradition while providing an intuitive user experience for contemporary spiritual seekers. Each I-Ching reading needed six coin tosses to form a hexagram line by line, with a seamless transition from the interactive toss to the final hexagram display. Coordinating multiple coin animations and ensuring the app worked well on any device added extra complexity. I also needed to accommodate all 64 hexagrams, each with its unique interpretation and imagery, while keeping the interface intuitive and enjoyable to use.

The Solution

For this project, I implemented the traditional I-Ching algorithm to generate hexagrams line by line, while managing the coin tosses and visual state with React. The interface is responsive, and easy to use on any device, with subtle animations to guide the experience. Hexagram interpretations are organized clearly in modals, allowing users to explore the readings without clutter.

By keeping the interface subtle and 'invisible,' users can focus on the spiritual experience rather than the technology. Meaningful animations and interactions can enhance rather than distract from contemplative practices. Careful structuring of the flow, clear visual feedback, and responsive design allow for a seamless experience, showing that thoughtful technology should serve human needs beyond mere functionality.

Mimi Tarot Web App

The Challenge

Creating a horizontal card spread with cards stacked neatly underneath, and adapting this animation to work smoothly on smaller screens like phones and tablets. Card-based interfaces are always tricky outside of desktop environments, so finding a responsive solution was key."

The Solution

The solution was to make the cards automatically adapt to different screen sizes. On larger displays, they fan out horizontally, just like they would in real life. On smaller devices, users are prompted to rotate their phone to landscape mode. This way, the horizontal card spread animation works seamlessly without the need for a separate mobile version. This UX choice preserves the magical card-spreading experience across all devices.

Even complex, animation-heavy layouts can be made responsive with the right balance of design and practicality. Delicate Machine E-Commerce Website

The Challenge

Enabling payment features without triggering real transactions, ensuring clear disclaimers, and making the demo both functional and legally safe, styling consistency, and sourcing product images that felt authentic for a realistic online store demo.

The Solution

Used mock products, clear "demo only" disclaimers, and explored test payment modes to simulate checkout safely while keeping the site professional for clients.

Conscious Belly Dance Website

The Challenge

Working within Squarespace’s design limitations to achieve a unique look, making the template fully responsive across all devices (including tablets, which aren’t handled by default), and ensuring the client could easily update the website without breaking custom styling.

The Solution

Adding custom media queries that extended Squarespace's default responsiveness, ensuring buttons and booking forms displayed seamlessly on tablets, not only on phones and desktops.
